Description

This is Part II of our Introduction to SPSS workshop; in which, we will explore how to obtain descriptive statistics and tables in SPSS, and perform visualization. After that, we will gradually step into the realm of inferential statistics, beginning with linear correlation & reliability, and then Chi-Square tests. Finally, we will explore the concpetual framework of data-based decision making (or Hypothesis Testing) as prelude to our later SPSS workshops (i.e., Methods for Comparing Means)

This workshop is recommended for researchers and postgraduate students who are new to SPSS or Statistics; or those simply looking for a refresher course before taking a deep dive into using SPSS, either to apply it to their research or to add it to their arsenal of eResearch skills.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Obtain descriptive statistics, create tables, graphs & assess normality

  • Perform correlation analyses and assess reliability of subscales

  • Perform Chi-Square tests
