Description

This workshop is being held at 3.00 – 5.00pm Sunday 8 December.

About this Event:

This FREE workshop will be held at the School of Biomedical Sciences Digital Learning Hub. We will be hosting a session on using 3D Slicer to convert DICOM images into a deployable “Sketchfab” model.

This workshop is for beginners with little to no experience using 3D Slicer. All participants will be required to bring a laptop and a mouse with a central wheel if possible. Please pre-install 3D Slicer (http://download.slicer.org/) prior to the workshop.

3D Slicer is an open source software package for visualisation and analysis of medical scan data. This workshop will focus heavily on 3D image rendering of medical scan data such as MRI and CT, and the generation of 3D models of anatomical features through the process of image segmentation. Possible applications for this type of capability includes virtual 3D visualisation, 3D printing of models for teaching and training purposes or surgical planning, and even the generation of custom-fit implants.

Again, kindly bring laptop and mouse. Please install 3D Slicer prior to the workshop https://download.slicer.org/.
