Event description
An evening of live music and movies celebrating the creativity of women from around the world.

About this Event

Join us for an evening celebrating the talent, energy and swagger of creative women at Jacaranda Square, Sydney Olympic Park. From 5pm to 8pm, relax and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat while swaying to the fabulous grooves of the Lolo Lovina Gypsy Caravan. You’ll experience a musical journey celebrating diverse sounds from different lands, all coming out of Sydney’s premier mobile performing arts hub.

From 8pm, soak up the Autumn parklife ambience while devouring a tasting menu from the Cinewest Women’s Media Arts Festival – an Outdoor Cinema selection of films by women from around the world for every taste that will challenge, entertain and provoke thought.

Limited event capacity. Free entry, booking tickets essential.

Ribs and Rumps will be dishing up a treat on the night. Sample what they have to offer while enjoying the entertainment. A selection of their menu will be available cooked to order, including burgers, salads and pastas. Wash it all down with an ice cold beverage from the pop-up bar.

The Line Up

Courtney Severini and the Continental Swing Eclectic - chanteuse and pianist. Courtney Severini brings her exuberant blend of continental favourites and Latin flavours to the caravan stage. A celebration of La Dolce Vita, and evoking the époque of the vintage supper club, this quartet also features Australia’s revered multi- instrumentalist Clare O’Meara, to deliver a joyful and quirky transportation to a bygone era.

Lolo Lovina featuring Elen Rapoport Lolo Lovina (Red Beer) are an intoxicating brew of Balkan Romani-Gypsy mayhem! Fronted by Australian born Hungarian Romani- Gypsy singer Sarah Bedak, their music reflects the cosmopolitan identity of an artist who grew up with three native cultures. Each concert is a passionate & unique experience. This International Women's Day, Lolo Lovina will feature the Internationally acclaimed and award winning pianist Elen Rapoport.

WOMEN Media Arts and Film Festival is a gender-specific initiative to invite all women filmmakers and digital media artists from around the world to showcase their works before Australian audiences at Sydney Olympic Park during March 8 – 14, 2021. WOMEN Media Arts and Film Festival is the first event of its kind in Australia presenting both traditional format (film) and contemporary format (media arts) in one event. The festival provides a link between various time-based mediums to establish historical and contemporary perspectives artistically, socially, culturally, and economically.
