All staff and students are invited to come along and celebrate International Women's Day on Wednesday 8 March, 2 pm to 3 pm in the Library Foyer (Building V) Burwood campus.
Three Deakin women will present a brief personal response to the UN Women's International Women's Day theme for 2017 ‘Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50:50 by 2030’ followed by a delicious afternoon tea.
Please let us know if you are coming (for catering purposes) by 6 March (please indicate any dietary requirements).
Feel free to forward an invitation to any of your colleagues (men and women) who might be interested. Here's the link to send them: https://deakin-iwd2017-burwood.eventbrite.com.au
"The world of work is changing, and with significant implications for women. On one hand, we have globalization, technological and digital revolution and the opportunities they bring, and on the other hand, the growing informality of labour, unstable livelihoods and incomes, new fiscal and trade policies and environmental impacts—all of which must be addressed in the context of women’s economic empowerment."
