Event description
Victoria's transport industry is invited to learn more about International Women's Day.

About this Event

International Women’s Day sheds light on gender inequality, which remains an issue at all levels of the workforce. For example, women have just 19% representation in transport industry.

Come and be part of a session that includes

* Q&A with inspiring and influential leaders from industry, community and peak bodies.

* information on programs you can join to bridge the gender gap in your current workforce, and diversify your future workforce

IWD itself is on 8 March and has occurred for well over a century, with the first gathering in 1911. The day is not country, group or organisation specific - belongs to all groups collectively everywhere.

Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist and activist once explained "The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights."

So make IWD your day and do what you can to truly make a positive difference for women.

Training For The Future's 'Transforming Transport' Inclusion Capability Series

Delivered as part of Victoria's Training For The Future (TFTF) program, Transforming Transport is an industry wide series of sessions aimed at building the industry's inclusion capability. TFTF is an initiative of the Victorian Government’s Major Transport Infrastructure Authority and Department of Transport. It is delivered by the Level Crossing Removal Project in partnership with the Rail Academy Newport, Rail Projects Victoria, Metro Trains Melbourne, Yarra Trams, V/Line, VicTrack and Public Transport Victoria.
