Event Details

In this one-day Melbourne workshop, participants* will be guided through learning how to map a system of parts (with Parts Timelines and Parts Maps) for client sessions and get the basics of how to form your unique Daily Parts Meditation Practice. The focus will be mapping and end with an introduction to the DPMP, both of which will be very experiential, with some didactic. Guided by examples, a live demo, and practice time, participants will have gained experience of mapping a system and hopefully with curiosity of mapping their own.

Parts Maps, Parts Timelines, and Daily Parts Meditation Practice are three of six tools Michelle developed out of her own in-depth IFS healing and need of deeper integration. Intention is on moving beyond the cursory “a part of me” and leaving no part behind, as one advances from the burdened system to the unburdened system and in maintaining strong Self to parts relationships for a Self-led life. Clinicians will discover that becoming a better IFS practitioner resides in in knowing their systems well. See her book, Daily Parts Meditation Practice: A Journey of Embodied Integration for Clients and Therapists, is available through the Center for Self Leadership's online bookstore.

* Open to those who have previously taken IFS workshops and trainings.

See the online flyer HERE for more general information on the workshops including the 2 day Sydney event, and HERE for the Certification trainings, including the Sydney events.

Testimonials

“As I travel around the world teaching IFS, I hear frequently from IFS clients who have been using the DPMP and loving it. I also hear from IFS therapists that they not only are having good results when their clients use it, but that they are finding it helpful for their own parts work. This book will deeply enhance your journey toward being Self-led.”

—Richard Schwartz, Ph.D.
Developer of IFS

Who is this for?

Participation is for therapists and counsellors, mental health clinicians, certified coaches, or students in accredited graduate training programs. Practitioners working experientially and wholistically will find this approach broadens and makes more acute their existing work through using the steps of the IFS 'parts' model.

Note - these workshops qualify for equivalent hours of specialised training that may be counted towards Continuing Professional Development according to requirements set down by your accrediting body. Registered health professionals have a responsibility to ensure that they continue to maintain, enhance and extend their knowledge and skills throughout their working lives.

FOR THOSE WITH NO PREVIOUS TRAINING IN THE IFS MODEL OF THERAPY
Attendance at the Introductory or online IFS trainings is required to enrol in these workshops. For those who have not attended a previous training or workshop, see link for more information about courses. Having sessions with an IFS practitioner is the most direct way to incorporate the model and to consolidate the learnings.

Workshop size

The size of this intensive workshop is limited.  Early registration is encouraged. Previous IFS workshops have sold out in the 2016 and 2017 Melbourne and Sydney venues.

These intensive workshops will promote immediate skill building through active participatory learning. Come along prepared to learn by doing!
