Event Details
Description
In this workshop you will immerse yourself in the Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) model of psychotherapy. Individual and family therapist Simon d'Orsogna will offer an Introductory IFS weekend workshop ahead of the further intermediate workshops and upcoming Level 1 & 2 Trainings in later 2019-20.
Participants in the Introductory Workshop will learn the basics of the IFS approach from the ground up. Suitable to professionals (therapists, psychologists, counsellors, certified coaches and social workers) as well as those interested in self-development.
The Enriching 2 day workshop will be a natural next step to those who have completed the Introductory workshop (see here for Coffs Harbour Enriching workshop on 19-20th March 2019), or are familiar with the Internal Family Systems model of psychotherapy. The focus of formal CSL Trainings for IFS Level 1 & 2 is going deeper into the IFS skills and techniques, and enhancing personal and professional capacity.
Discounted tickets are available below for taking both the Introductory and the Enriching workshops in the same month.
This two day Introductory Workshop is an opportunity for an overview presentation, live demonstrations, experiential learning by doing, and provides a safe space to develop a comfortable facility with the powerful attitudes and techniques that make IFS so effective. The sessions here provide deeper learning and an opportunity to work in small groups with maximum in-the-seat learning in a supportive atmosphere.
See the online flyer HERE for more general information on upcoming Certification trainings.
Testimonials from attendees of Simon's recent Introductory IFS workshops
"Great learning, profound and well-organized.
... a great introduction, but as well good for the well prepared.
Very interesting and more emotionally charged than many trainings.
It clarified my own confusion / incongruence about how to apply various theories to a more holistic approach.
Great learning experience, fun and a good opportunity to learn about all the different parts that show up in our lives. You'd love it.
An amazing introduction to IFS with demo's and practice sessions on both days. A really great training in psychotherapy, and being offered in Coffs Harbour - a bonus!
Enlightening! Great to have the support of experienced others to implement theory into practice, warmly so!
Life changing in the way I work with clients.
Fantastic and full of great people. Actually very energizing instead of draining which can often happen even in interesting workshops”
Who is this for?
Participation is for therapists and counsellors, mental health clinicians, certified coaches, expressive arts therapists or students in accredited graduate training programs. Practitioners working experientially and wholistically will find this approach broadens and makes more acute their existing work through using the steps of the IFS 'parts' model, especially suitable for working with trauma, obsessions and intergenerational burdens.
Note - these workshops qualify for equivalent hours of specialised training that may be counted towards Continuing Professional Development according to requirements set down by your accrediting body. Registered health professionals have a responsibility to ensure that they continue to maintain, enhance and extend their knowledge and skills throughout their working lives.
Guidelines on continuing professional development (CPD) from the Australian Psychological Society and
Guidelines on continuing professional development (CPD) set down by the Psychology Registration Board of Australia.
The Australian Psychological Society advise that APS Members may accrue Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours by participating in activities that they determine to be relevant to their specific professional approaches, and professional development goals. CPD activities do not need to be endorsed by the APS. A certificate of attendance will be available.
Workshop size
The size of this intensive workshop is limited to 30 participants plus assistants. Early registration is encouraged. Previous workshops have sold out early and the certification trainings have been waitlisted.
This workshop will promote beginner and intermediate-level skill building through active participatory learning. Come along prepared to learn by doing.
