Description

That feeling of holding that glossy magazine and seeing your work amongst the beautiful pages for the first time is magical.
The process to land your project in a magazine, be featured on a prominent blog or shared across social media is a job onto itself, and one that is not taught at design school. From the initial client meeting, to achieving the design vision that is ready for photography takes a lot of hard work and dedication. Once the project is finished, it needs to be styled for photography, which is a very different way to styling the space for living. Lauren shares the steps on how arrange a photoshoot, including finding the right photographer for your project and how to give them a detailed brief. Why you should engage a photographic stylist and loan a (literal) truck-load of props. All is not what it seems in those pinterest worthy images, it’s smoke and mirrors guys!
Once you have your incredible images, we show you how to create a pitch to the magazines to get the editors attention. We share with you our editor contact list - that’s right. You’re getting an editor list of names and email addresses.

One months access to the Sessions Facebook Group where you can ‘ask me anything’
A delicious ‘Ladro’ pizza lunch (please advise of dietary requirements), wine (let’s get creative!), and complementary all day tea and refreshments from our apartment kitchen.

Location: Sisalla Apartment, Level 1, 409 Chapel Street, South Yarra (access via Snowball Lane)
Date: This is a whole session from 10am to 4pm.

Cost: $495 inc GST

Please Note: This event requires a minimum of 6 attendees to run. If we do not meet this minimum amount, the event will not run and all paid ticket holders at that point will be fully refunded.

FAQs

What can I bring into the event?

Working digitally is best suited to this course as online access is beneficial but not essential.
1. A lap-top or ipad and charger cords. There is limited access to a computer in the studio, first in, best-dressed.

2. Note pad, you will want to take lots of notes. No notes for this session are provided.

What's the refund policy?

Tickets are non-refundable. Please double, triple check your dates and make arrangements prior to purchasing tickets. Names on tickets are transferable up to 7 days prior to the event. Please contact us via email studio@sisalla.com.au for assistance.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Not to worry, we can tick off your name.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

We are located near the Prahran Market where there is a carpark you can park for the day, check their fees. The Chapel Street tram comes past, we are near the Commercial Road intersection. Walking distance to Prahran or Hawksburn Station. Advice not to park on the streets nearby as parking inspectors are everywhere!
