Description

This intensive, full day training session presented by Women’s Health Grampians will equip you to respond confidently and effectively to instances of gender inequality and violence condoning behaviour. The training will cover the prevalence and causes of violence against women, including the attitudes and norms that support violence, and sexism as a system. As well as equipping you to be an active bystander, this training will look in depth at some of the concepts that you can use to build an inclusive and respectful culture in your workplace, including unconscious bias, gender equity vs equality, and intersectionality.


Topics covered in this session will include:

  • Defining violence against women
  • Statistics regarding the prevalence of violence against women
  • The causes of violence against women
  • Attitudes and norms that support violence against women
  • Sexism as a system
  • Unconscious bias
  • Gender equity vs equality
  • Equality for all
  • Bystander action
  • Putting it into action in your workplace
  • How to be an active bystander

This training is available to all CoRE member employees, members and volunteers.
