Event description

Description

Forget about posting pictures of your lunch; Instagram is an amazing platform for small businesses to connect with their customers and increase their sales.

With over 600 million active users monthly and an engagement rate 58 times higher than Facebook, it's a great way to get in front of your target market and communicate directly to them.

But not everyone on Instagram is right for your brand. In this 3 hour workshop, you'll learn the essential strategies to build an engaged follower base on Instagram.

You’ll leave with a strategy to help you define, find and connect with your ideal customers on Instagram. We'll also talk about best practice when it comes to posting, including what images to post and how to write compelling captions.

And we'll talk about hashtags - their importance and how to include them in posts.

Sprinkled through the workshop will be tips to help you make the most of this platform in the least amount of time with the best tools and apps.

Perfect for new and established businesses looking to walk away with real strategies to use Instagram for their business.

This workshop is being run as part of the Small Business Victoria Festival 2017.

FAQs

Who is this workshop suited to?

Whether you've been using Instagram for a while for your business, or you've recently jumped online, you'll find the content we cover helpful to devising and implementing a strategy that'll engage and convert your followers.

All attendees will get an email in the lead up to the event asking about your business and goals so that the content can be tailored to those actually coming.

It's expected that you will have some knowledge of how Instagram works (ie you know how to upload, post and edit your bio).

What should I bring on the day?

Bring along your smartphone with the Instagram app installed. You're also welcome to bring along a laptop (WiFI access will be available at the venue) to take notes and research apps/tools on the day.

Workbooks will be given out, and you might want to bring along your favourite pen/coloured markers/sticky notes as required.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

The workshop is being held at The Cowork Co in Brunswich East. Tram routes number 1 and 8 stop right outside, and Antsey station is 15 minutes walk away. There is onsite, undercover bike parking on the premises, along with free, unsigned parking in the adjoining streets.

Is there ramp access at the event?

There is ramp access at the rear of the building (get in touch with the organiser to arrange), along with disabled facilities.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
