This Instagram workshop is aimed at providing you with an understanding of best practice social media strategies and Instagram tactics.  Instagram has changed enormously over the last six months and is constantly offering new opportunities to businesses as it competes with new players in the market like Tic Toc.  Therefore you need to stay up to date and keep evolving your use of Instagram in your business and even if you participated in the 2018-19 Digital Ready program you will get benefit from this workshop as the trainer will be sharing new information.

 You will learn about how the algorithm has changed and the impact of the Likes disappearing, how often you should post for optimum impact and the changing use of video on Instagram.  You will also hear about how Instagram Stories tactics are changing and in-post advertising is evolving, as well as Instagram creating an Influencer platform.  Hear about these new features and also explore the appropriate strategy to incorporate Instagram into your overall marketing plans.  

 The workshop will include the following topics:

• The role of Instagram in your business and destination
• Maximising the features and functionality
• How reach and engagement works
• Creating content that connects with your audience
• Monitoring and responding
• Measuring and identifying what works
• An intro to Instagram Advertising and in post selling

Business Eligibility

Businesses must be eligible for assessment in the Best of Queensland Experiences Program (BoQE) to participate in year 2 of the Queensland Tourism Industry Business Capability Program. Micro, small and medium businesses across all sectors of the tourism industry are encouraged to participate.

A tourism business is defined as a business that provides a direct service or experience to the leisure tourist and operates within ONE of the following categories:

  • Accommodation
  • Attraction
  • Food and Drink
  • Events
  • Tour
  • Hire
  • Transport
  • General Service

Queensland Tourism Industry Council

The Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) is a not-for-profit, private sector, membership-based organisation representing the interests of Queensland’s tourism and hospitality industry.

We work in partnership with government agencies and industry bodies at a local, state and national level, to strengthen the voice of tourism in all relevant policy forums. Our membership comprises more than 3000 regional members (individual and corporate) alongside 13 Regional Tourism Organisation (RTOs) and 18 industry sector associations. 

Our efforts are aimed squarely at helping this strong tourism industry drive sustainable business and product development, stimulate business attraction and investment, develop workforce skills and support tourism jobs and business.  Tourism in Queensland is a $25 billion industry that sustains 217,000 Queensland jobs across 55,000 businesses. There are few sectors of the community that do not benefit from tourism.

We also operate and host the annual Queensland Tourism Awards – the state’s premier industry recognition program for outstanding contribution by organisations and individuals within our tourism sector.
