Event description

Description

You are invited to an information session with Katrina Ward to discuss how to help cats make the transition to containment. Katrina is a vet who specialises in animal behavior and is the owner of her beloved Tic-Tac.

With the By-laws for domestic cat ownership due to be introduced in June 2019, the session will give you a chance to ask questions and seek specific advice. Topics covered will include how to identify the needs of your individual cat/s, create the best environment to suit their needs and how to phase in containment and address any stress behaviours that may occur.

We will also be showing the ‘Inside with Cats’ videos which introduces five Kingborough cats (along with their humans), who are embracing life on the inside. ‘Inside with Cats’ explores the various options these owners have used for outdoor enclosures or walking harnesses, and how they keep their cats safe, happy and healthy. Knowing your cat and providing for its needs is the first step to having a happy cat who can still lead emotionally and physically enriched lives on the ‘inside’.

For more information please contact Kaylene Allan on (03) 6211 8200 or kallan@kingborough.tas.gov.au.

‘Inside with Cats’ is a partnership between Kingborough Council, Ten Lives Cat Centre, Tasmanian Conservation Trust and the Bruny Island Environment Network.
