Event description
This workshop is designed to address the specific research training needs of Higher Degree by Research and Honours students

About this Event

Choosing a thesis structure is a key decision that involves supervisory advice, disciplinary conventions, institutional guidelines and examiner expectations. This workshop will introduce the various approaches to structuring a research thesis, from the conventional thesis to the creative exegesis. We will look at how various thesis structures are employed to suit particular disciplinary conventions, topics, methodologies or paradigms. We will examine innovative approaches to thesis writing that have challenged these conventions. This practical workshop will help you take into account the many requirements you must consider when deciding on a thesis structure, or more fully understand the approach that you have already selected.

Facilitated by Dr Kylie Stevenson, HDR Communication Adviser, Centre for Learning and Teaching

This session is also a lecture in WRS6000 - Writing and Reading Skills for Researchers.
