In this series of "working lunch" workshops, Law Squared and Wendy Brooks and Partners will share their expertise in the not-for-profit sector.

This workshop, the second in the 3 part series will guide you through the Disability Sector. This workshops will help you to understand:

  • The role of the board under the NDIS and understanding your legal and financial obligations

  • Funding in an NDIS world and how to attract funding from other bodies

  • The mindset shift required by the Board in the new NDIS world

  • How the NDIS will increase performance and invesment in technology

About your speakers:

Wendy Brooks

Wendy is passionate about social justice, equity and human rights. Her career has spanned law, music (professional violist), marketing, business development and fundraising for the tertiary education, environment and conservation, arts, health and medical research and social welfare sectors.

Wendy’s voluntary leadership positions include: Co-Chair, Human Rights Watch (HRW) Australia; Board Chair of InLife Independent Living Ltd; Chair and Trustee of the National Trust of Australia Victoria Foundation; Trustee of National Trust of Australia Victoria; Member of the Council of MiVote; Director of Summer Housing Ltd and Board Director of Kokoda Track Foundation and Flying Arts Alliance. Wendy serves on the HRW International Disability Rights Advisory Council and is a founding member of the Australian Charity Law Association and the Melbourne Women’s Fund.
