Event description

Description

Building on the Next Generation Triple Zero (000) strategies and future communications environment, this year's Industry Engagement Forum will focus on artificial intelligence and its application to emergency response.

This year’s Event will be held in Darwin from Tuesday 21 May 2019 (3:00pm) through to Thursday, 23 May 2019 (concluding at midday). The two days will be dedicated to exploring artificial intelligence and its impact on Emergency Services and Public Safety Agencies, particularly relating to emergency response.

The overall aim of the Industry Engagement Forum is to gain further insight on artificial intelligence and machine learning and the impact this will have on emergency response, now and into the future. The NECWG-A/NZ Executive is currently in discussion with keynote speakers who specialise in artificial intelligence. We expect to be able to announce within the next two to three weeks those speakers.

A formal dinner will be hosted by NECWG-A/NZ on Wednesday, 22 May 2019 at Pee Wees at the Point. A panel of Indigenous leaders will address dinner guests about the experiences their communities experience relating to emergency response.

As with past engagement days, the event will be held as a workshop style session, whereby participants will be asked to participate in sessions to assist public safety practitioners in planning for the future.

Registration includes morning and afternoon teas, Wednesday lunch and Wednesday dinner.
