Individual Research Plans: Advice for Staff (Melbourne Campus)
Thu. 10 November 2016, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm AEDT
THIS SESSION IS FOR LA TROBE STAFF AND STUDENTS ONLY
ABOUT THIS SESSION:
In 2016, La Trobe University adopted a research planning process aimed at enhancing the work of La Trobe researchers. The Individual Research Plan is a developmental tool designed to help you focus your research activities and ambitions, and to help you plan for your medium-term research needs. This 2-hour workshop provides an introduction to the research planning process, with a particular focus on the following areas:
Understanding the research cycle and how plan for it
Connecting with university priorities for research
Articulating a research agenda
Establishing realistic and coherent aims and outcomes
WHY SHOULD I ATTEND?
The workshop will involve a formal presentation as well as opportunities for individuals to explore the research plan template, and ask questions about their own research plans. It will provide an introduction to the process and a step-by-step demonstration of how to complete an Individual Research Plan. ECRs and MCRs are especially encouraged to attend.
This session is open to all academic staff who may wish to engage with the Individual Research Plan process.
