Culturally appropriate use of Indigenous art and design is not only important, but it can give you, the architect or designer an enriching experience beyond that of simply specifying furniture for a project.

Winya uses a combination of Indigenous designs and materials in its fit-outs to mix cutting edge workstations and boardroom technology, with traditional fabrics, sustainable materials, all with a focus of improving Indigenous employment and social outcomes.

Winya provides designers the opportunity to work creatively with our teams of artists and with our unique Arnhem Land and Cape York sustainable timbers to create uniquely Australian and vibrant commercial installations.

Winya will have a number of its artists and designers as part of an interactive presentation covering:

• Indigenous design is not the stuff in the tourist shops
• how to work with indigenous materials and design
• avoiding tokenism
• cultural diversity and protocols
• symbols and their uses
• pulling it all together

This event will be followed by drinks and Indigenous snacks so that you can continue to talk with the designers and artists.
