About this Event

Have you ever wondered what it would it be like to visit India; I did for “years” I pondered over the idea, and I finally took that life changing step and had the adventure of a lifetime. My journey was one of a spiritual nature, it feed my heart and soul, it expanded my mind and I have to say I fell in love with the people it’s culture and its spiritual history.

My invitation goes out to you to fulfil that calling, my love for travel and India drove me to want to share this amazing country with you. This is not a tour it is a complete immersion into its history, culture, food, crafts, music, spirituality, Vedic medicine and off course its people.

India is like no other place on earth, it is complete organized chaos. Its cities are populated, their drivers are highly skilled as they deal with road conditions that you and I would never imagine. It has incredible riches to unthinkable poverty. It is a country of change and it has its challenges, yet it is changing and through those changes we are witnessing the rise of those who are determined to bring to life its rich history and traditions through restoration of historical sites and the awaking of aged old crafts that make this country so special.

Each state is unique and has something different to offer in experiences. We begin your journey in Delhi, “ooohhhh Delhi how I love you”. I was truly surprised by my love and affection for Delhi as a world traveller, big cities would have to be my least favourite so to my surprise Delhi stole my heart while I wasn’t looking. We start with a visit to the Lotus temple which is dedicated to world peace. You will witness how one of Delhi’s Sikh temples feeds over 100 thousand people a day. Learn about the daily ritual of Chai tea, it can found on ever street corner and served in every home. You will learn about its history how it’s made and off course you will enjoy a cup of home-made chai tea. The best way to immerse yourself into a countries culture is to walk the streets, this guided walk will not disappoint, you will appreciate the history and their way of life. Our drive to Agra will take you through the countryside. Agra is going to leave you with treasured memories. A sunrise tours the Taj Mahal I didn’t really have any expectations as there are so many stories about the Taj Mahal and Agra itself.

I stood back a few meters from the entrance to the grounds of Taj Mahal. In front of me was an archway and just in the distance stood the Taj. It was amazing, you don’t really get a feel of its grandeur in photos so believe me its grand. It was early morning, so the sun hadn’t quite rose and the sky was misty. I walked alongside the reflective pool that lined the pathway to where a Queen lay rest with her King, I was in absolute awe, her King built this amazing monument out of his love for his Queen. My guide spoke of many old stories of this King and his wife and the people that came together to build the Taj Mahal. “it’s not to be missed”. In Agra we will be staying in the family run homestay with Ranjana who will cook you a lovely breakfast and in the evening you will feast on Ranjana's home cooked Indian dinner. And a touch of Bollywood as we watch a colourful story of the Taj Mahal with dancing and singing.

Moving on to Jaipur you will visit the Amber Fort, don’t let its name fool you. Tens of thousands tiny mirrors lining walls and ceilings it was breathe taking. My mind was filled with amazement, the fort itself was built out of yellow and pink sandstone and the mirror inlay crafted sandstone, how were such things possible in a time and place where modern machinery had no place. Jaipur is the city of bright colours, crafts, and traditional printing. In Jaipur you will learn this ancient craft and leave with your very own unique piece of material.

Still in Jaipur I was curious to see the city, our guide walked us through streets and down tiny laneways that opened to some fabulous sites. The Bayan tree is a wholly tree in India and where it grows is stays, it can be seen twisting in and out of buildings and dressed in black and white check material. And I cant leave Jaipur without taking you to the Hindu Temple “Gopinath Temple “dedicated to Lord Krishna. Witness a ceremony in action, the local woman dress themselves in the most beautifully coloured clothing. Your guide will talk you through its long history and explain the ceremony that is in procession. My first visit here was a truly spiritual experience for me, I was so overwhelmed by the amount of love in this space.

Naturally shopping comes into play; ) when you travel overseas and you will have the opportunity to shop for some of the most beautiful treasures. Hand crafted jewellery, marble ornaments, rugs, clothing, incense, India tea, spices, beautiful painted elephants, embroidery, cashmere scarfs and so much more. I must warn you though know your prices and be prepared to barter. The locals are the best salespeople I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with so start saving those pennies and be ready to bargain with the best.

Goa it’s simply time to relax, unwind and heal. Goa has a completely different feel to the other parts of India. It is known for its beaches, its party atmosphere and a place to unwind. I came to India to heal and I choose to do this through Ayurveda. I met with Vijay and his team of professional massage therapist. I spent 4 days undergoing the treatments and I lost over 7 kilos had increased energy levels and my other senses where heightened. Ayurveda has been used in India for hundreds of years, its natural and it works. It’s is challenging as it does bring forward what needs to be addressed within the physical, spiritual mental and emotional bodies.

To support you through this healing journey you will have 3 prepared meals a day, please understand these meals are based on clean eating, you will feel amazing though. The villa style accommodation will provide a space to just chill so bring a good book. During this time Cecilia and I will be taking your through daily meditations, healing balances and guiding you on your healing journey.

Your final day in Goa will be a celebration of your journey and this will be done through the art of Rangoli and Mehndi. Our dear friend Ashwary who is one of Goa’s most talented artists has invited us to her lovely property. She has welcomed us into her home where she will teach us the tradition of sand art and henna art. Aishwary will also create a unique design for you to wear proudly. In the evening we can dine by beach and sneak in a cheeky mocktail.
