THE INDEPENDENT AUSTRALIAN AUTHOR SYMPOSIUM (IAAS) Presented by Shawline Publishing Group - Brisbane – Saturday, 14th November 2020

About this Event

This Symposium will launch and promote recently published Australian authors to the market place and invite key speakers of speciality field’s, views and expertise; along with being respected representatives of communities and industry’s within the local State of the event, to discuss issues and plans for writing and publishing in Australia and around the world. This will be a quarterly event in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. Free give-away's and Door Prize presented along with great company and a chance to mingle with the community of authors and public figures around Australia.

Morning tea, Lunch, afternoon tea and after event drinks will be available to all attendees during the day for all guests.

The Venue will be the VICTORIA PARK GOLF CLUB and is designed around indie elements and casual comforts and a maximum of 550 people, yet given COVID19 restrictions, we are only allowing for a max of 250 guests at our event (including speakers and their guests) with space for tables around sides of the room area for book sales and author signings. (Event has the option to be postponed and all ticket sales will carry over to new date of event if required.)

ONE DAY EXPERIENCE -

• 9.00am Arrival of guests.

• 9.30am Seating for Introduction by MC of Speakers and Event

• 10am to 11.00am - 4 Guest speakers (15 minutes each)

• 11.00am – 11.15am - Morning Tea

• 11.15pm – 1.30pm - 4 Guest speakers (15 minutes each plus Q&A)

• 1.30pm to 2.30pm - Lunch break and mingling.

• 2.30pm to 5pm will be book signing with authors greeting guests and fans.

• 5pm to 6pm casual drinks in lounge areas for all who wish it.

ATTENDEE INCLUSIONS

The attendees will be given a promo bag of goodies which will include copies of published books and audio books by the authors present on the day and which the author will sign. Further discount vouchers and books will be available also for attendees to benefit.

7. Lorraine Pestell – Author of the LIFE series books and speak of her experiences

8. Jane Ireland - Author or the Crying tree Series will talk about her experiences, inspirations and passion for writing.

9. Edwina Shaw - will provide gentle meditation & exercises designed to get your creative juices flowing.

MEDIA We will invite all local media such as radio and TV and Print editions where possible to maximise the coverage of the event on and off-line.
