Overview

An overview of cerebral palsy and how to support a child in a kindergarten or daycare setting.

CPEC will be running three training sessions tailored towards Kindergarten and Daycare staff. The team presenting this information includes a physiotherapist, speech pathologist and occupational therapist.

Session 1 covers topics including:

  • An overview of cerebral palsy and like conditions
  • Ways to enable children to participate actively (this will include some useful equipment)
  • Practical ideas for implementation of activities in the pre-school environment
  • Supporting children with physical challenges to safely eat and drink

Feedback from previous years indicates that this session is invaluable for people assisting and educating a child with a physical disability and/or complex communication need.
