Event description

Description

Join the Centre for Cultural Diversity in Disability SA for the inaugural CALD and Disability Symposium.

Guest speakers include the National Ethnic Disability Alliance

The new landscape created by the NDIS is at the same time exciting and daunting. It represents a major social reform for people living with disability and their families/carers as well as service providers and the community as a whole.

To contribute to shaping and supporting the development of this new landscape the Centre for Cultural Diversity in Disability will run a series of symposiums aimed at exploring inclusive and culturally appropriate services and interventions for people with disabilities from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

This inaugural Symposium will engage with the current understanding of what exciting opportunities and emerging challenges people with disabilities from CALD backgrounds, their families and carers and their communities are experiencing in South Australia.

The Symposium is keen to gain the insight of all people with disabilities, community groups, service providers and stakeholders with lived experience and those interested in the experiences of people with disabilities from CALD backgrounds.

Light refreshments will be provided.
