Description

In their sights: The dark arts of digital alcohol marketing

Today’s rapidly changing digital marketing landscape is a barely controlled new frontier; a wild west where the pace of technological innovation and sophisticated targeting far outstrips token industry self-regulation that claims to protect consumers.

Add alcohol, gambling and junk food to the mix and the problem is far worse. Predatory, covert and unrestricted marketing is targeting you and your children in ways you cannot fathom.

The Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE) together with the national campaign to End Alcohol Advertising in Sport, cordially invites you to take a deep dive into the dark arts of digital alcohol marketing, and consider what responses are needed.

  • Alcohol advertising in esports. What happens when sports go digital?

  • Tricks, targets and influencers. What are the new frontiers in digital marketing?

  • Reforms and protections. How do we better protect and safeguard children?
