ABOUT THE FILM
“You can show people photos of this place, but until you sit on the top of a peak – look down at lakes and look back up at Alps – it’s not until then that you truly get it.”
‘In Search of Koura Ma: The Story of Skiing in Wanaka’ recounts the history of skiing and snowboarding in Wanaka, as told by the local pioneers of mountain culture in the heart of Southern Alps. Koura Ma translates to ‘white gold’, a name often used to describe the best snow on the mountain – a commodity that many mountain lovers have come to expect when in Wanaka.
