Event description
In One Act is a playwriting development program delivered in partnership between Yarra Libraries and Melbourne Writers’ Theatre.

About this event

In 2021 it will once again be facilitated by Yarra resident, writer and dramaturge Christine Croyden.

The focus of In One Act is to foster the development of emerging playwrights and provide opportunities to develop ideas, connect with other writers and benefit from professional development via guidance delivered by skilled industry creatives. In this program, participants will work towards the development of a short play. A number of plays that are deemed ready for showcasing/presentation to the public will be selected for inclusion in two Playreading Performances that will be presented to the public.

We invite you to join us at Richmond Theatrette for one or both of the Playreading Performances, which will be directed by MWT director Mazz Ryan and feature professional actors performing rehearsed readings of the new plays written in this year's In One Act program.

You can read about the participants and scripts featured in the 2020 Playreading Performances (presented online), and view the Zoom recordings, by visiting https://melbournewriterstheatre.org.au/in-one-act-2020

Bookings required.
