About this event
BY POPULAR DEMAND: We are hosting a second workplace Q&A event on Wednesday. Please see tickets here.
In celebration of Reconciliation Week, the In My Blood It Runs team is hosting a Tuesday afternoon Q&A with members of the filmmaking team, for workplaces to run as an educational and cultural learning event for their staff. Each ticket includes access to the film and a live Q&A for your staff to join in to.
The Q&A will be centred around the filmmaking, impact campaign, and how workplaces and organisations can work to improve cultural safety.
How does it work?
We understand in this uncertain time schedules are ever-changing, so we are aiming to make accessing these events as flexible as possible. After you have bought tickets for your staff, you will be sent separate links for each attendee to access:
Step 1: Watch the film. Each ticketholder will have a unique link to watch the film; we recommend the latest you do this is at 2pm AEST on Tuesday but we will send you the links in advance so your staff can watch earlier if preferable. We will also send you assets including videos, marketing and campaign information if you wish to share with your team.
Step 2: Join the Q&A. You will be sent a link to join the live Q&A at 3.45pm AEST. All registered attendees can ask questions and interact live with the panelists, including members of the film and impact team.
Fundraising
50% of profits from these screenings will go towards the impact campaign and supporting First Nations communities to prepare against COVID-19. See more info at: www.inmyblooditruns.com/takeaction/
Synopsis
Ten-year-old Dujuan is a child-healer, a good hunter and speaks three languages. As he shares his wisdom of history and the complex world around him we see his spark and intelligence. Yet Dujuan is ‘failing’ in school and facing increasing scrutiny from welfare and the police.
As he travels perilously close to incarceration, his family fight to give him a strong Arrernte education alongside his western education lest he becomes another statistic. We walk with him as he grapples with these pressures, shares his truths and somewhere in-between finds space to dream, imagine and hope for his future self.
This is available exclusively for those accessing the film from Australia and New Zealand. Geoblocking will prevent access from other territories.
PLEASE NOTE: If the cost is a barrier, or if you require a captioned version of the film, please send us a message or contact hello@inmyblooditruns.com
