Event description

Description

Stern, playful, encouraging, hard-working, tough or loving – no matter how we describe our own father, he leaves an indelible imprint.

Adelaide local Claire Halliday returns with another heartfelt collection stories from Australian celebrities, this time about their fathers and how they’ve influenced their lives. Things My Father Taught Me includes memories from Darryn Lyons, Joe Hildebrand, George Calombaris, Jo Stanley, Father Bob Maguire, Em Rusciano and Matthew Reilly.

More than just a collection of memoirs, Things My Father Taught Me shines a spotlight on the lasting influence that Dads and Father-figures can have on us. Claire’s writing captures the love, adoration and respect through stories not only of warmth and closeness, but also difficulty and tragedy.

During this In Conversation, Claire Halliday will interview another SA local, David Koch. Originally trained as an accountant, Kochie is now co-host on the Seven Network’s Sunrise and the current Chairman of the Port Adelaide Football Club.

Things My Father Taught Me will be available for purchase and Claire and David will be happy to autograph copies.

Claire's accompanying title Things My Mother Taught Me will also be available on the day.
