Description

WEBINAR Masterclass presented by SIRF Roundtables SA.

Attendance is free for SIRF Roundtables members in South Australia.

Lubrication is the cornerstone of any reliability-driven maintenance program. Done correctly, it can maximize equipment uptime and reliability, reduce costs and achieve an entirely new level of performance. Done poorly, it can result in losses as high as 30% of a plant’s overall maintenance budget.

However lubrication's importance is often forgotten to the point where it becomes difficult to engage trades in its precision aspects or in implementing best practices.

This Master class will focus on two aspects of lubrication - contamination (the biggest failure mode for lubrication) and emerging IoT technology. In other words, how to keep your oil clean, and what's the latest way to monitor your lubrication with wireless sensors!

Presenting this Masterclass we will have Andrew Ezis from Lubrication Engineering, ready to share his knowledge and expertise on lubrication excellence (see him on LinkedIn here).

Andrew is the national contact point for Lubrication & Reliability for companies with an aim to provide improved equipment reliability, reduced downtime, reduced maintenance costs and increased profits Lubrication Engineers cover the whole lubrication cycle, and Andrew helps companies with implementing best practices in lubricant storage & dispensing, lubricant transfer & installation, contamination management, education & training, enhanced lubricants, and lubrication equipment.

This webinar also provides the opportunity to understand best practices and excellence with Lubrication. Come along to this event to learn about and discuss two key topics:

Contamination Management

Contamination in Hydraulic and Lubrication systems is the leading contributor to component failure, decreased reliability and higher operating costs. The rate of these failures can be drastically reduced if not eliminated through effective contamination management.

Understanding the basics of how contamination can be managed and what to do if it occurs will help you drive down costs and improve system reliability. Did you know you can also reduce your environmental impact by using Lubricants until they lose their usefulness and not because the service is due? Maintaining ISO Cleanliness standards not only improves reliability, but can reduce waste and the associated costs.

Lubrication and the IoT

There are many emerging technologies available, that provide integration as part of the IoT, however lubrication has traditionally not been considered. Things are finally changing, and now you can monitor your lubricants and critical assets with the aid of sensors, opening up the capability of using real time analytics. But providing an integrated view of your mechanical assets is made more difficult as you need to interpret the data provided. Done well, protection from critical failure is greater than ever before, and using IoT and analytics removes the inherent failures associated to the human element, including contamination!

Who Should Attend?

SIRF Masterclasses are generally for anyone working in or around the topic of the class. They are not generally suited for newbies or people with no knowledge of the topic, and thus are one of SIRF’s least general type of event. Even so, if you work in or around the topic of the Masterclass, you will definitely benefit from attending!

For the time being, all of our events will be remote meetings. This masterclass is presented via Zoom, which can either have a small .exe program installed (best option) or be run from your web browser with no program installed. Contact Sean Lewis (0466 256 736) if you need help setting it up.

About SIRF Roundtable Masterclasses

All SIRF events are designed to provide a safe environment for open discussion with peers on the topic of interest they are working on, in and around. Masterclass Events are one of SIRF's signature formats, and you must come prepared to learn! Speakers for Masterclass Events all have a deep understanding of their topic, and will engage the audience at a medium to high level with their content. Masterclasses typically start with a detailed presentation by the speaker followed by time for roundtable discussion on the topic to promote peer-to-peer learning and networking.

Who can I contact for further information?
