Description

Please note: this course runs Saturdays 10 September to 22 October at Ithaca Hall, Red Hill, with one extra Sunday class 1-4pm 16 October (eight weeks total). You are warmly encouraged to perform in a graduation show, 7pm Wednesday 26 October.

This 8 week course is designed to build upon the impro skills taught in our level 1 workshop. The class will explore how to successfuly create scenes for the stage spontaneously while still having fun. The course will encourage students to think about their impro more critically while still maintaining the playfulness and fun of the craft.

Students will be invited to showcase their developing skills in a graduation show at the end of the course.

Topics covered in this 8 week course include:

  • Developing strong characters
  • Creating beliveable relationships between characters
  • Moving scenes and the story along
  • Stage craft
  • Supporting your scene partners and the show

Your teacher: Camilla Percy

Cam holds a Bachelor of Education and is currently studying a Masters of Education (Research). She has studied improvisation under Keith Johnstone in Calgary, Canada and has taught impro at such diverse locations as Improvention festival in Canberra, the University of Queensland Translational Research Institute and outback Queensland, as well as levelled courses for ImproMafia. Cam loves the moment in impro when performers forget their ego and reveal something spontaneous and true. Her impro heroes are Keith, Jill Bernard, Joe Bill and Anna Renzenbrink.
