Mental health in the workplace: Improving outcomes for patients with a work-related mental health condition
This activity will update attendees on clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and management of work-related mental health conditions.
Dr Helena Williams will discuss how GPs can apply these guidelines to improve patient safety and achieve better patient outcomes. She will also review the role of complex childhood trauma in the development of mental health conditions.
Learning Outcomes
- Describe and summarise the clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and management of a work-related mental health condition in General Practice.
- Practically apply the clinical guidelines into existing practice systems to improve patient safety.
- Implement strategies to improve recovery and return to work outcomes for patients.
- Describe the role of complex childhood trauma and how it may contribute to the development of mental health conditions and influence recovery.
