Professional Development session for School Counsellors and Child and Youth Mental Health staff in the Lower North Shore and Ryde areas

About this event

This workshop will give a background into the impact of trauma on neurodevelopment in childhood and help give a better understanding of why some children behave as they do and how to support them at school from a trauma-informed perspective.

Gabrielle Duffy is a Clinical Psychologist with over 25 years experience working with children and families. She has worked in a paediatric hospital setting, in child and family community health, Royal Far west Service for children from rural NSW and in private practice. For the last 15 years, Gabrielle has been involved with the Dalwood Spilstead Service on Sydney’s Northern beaches. Gabrielle is an accredited Phase 2 practitioner in the NMT approach and provides training for individuals and organisations working with vulnerable children. She also runs a clinic for children in Out of Home care providing assessments and intervention plans for the most challenging of children. Gabrielle is also trained in running Circle of Security groups and in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and ESDM therapy for children with autism.
