Monash Business School’s Centre for Development Economics and Sustainability (CDES) is pleased to be hosting this presentation regarding the International Monetary Fund’s latest World Economic Outlook report.
Guest speaker Dr. Malhar Nabar, Deputy Division Chief of the World Economic Studies Division in the IMF's research department will discuss the IMF’s latest views on the global outlook, risks and policy priorities. He has been with the IMF since 2009.
The World Economic Outlook reports are surveys conducted by IMF staff, published twice a year, presenting IMF economists' analyses of global economic developments during the near and medium-term.
This seminar will give an overview and some analysis of the issues impacting the world economy; issues affecting industrial countries, developing countries, and emerging market economies.
About the speaker:
Dr. Malhar Nabar, Deputy Division Chief of the World Economic Studies Division in the IMF's Research Department. Prior to his current role, Dr Malhar worked in the IMF's Asia and Pacific Department, where he covered China and Japan and was mission chief for Hong Kong, SAR.
Before joining the IMF, he was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Wellesley College. He holds a Ph.D. from Brown University. Malhar’s research interests are in financial development, investment, and productivity growth.
