INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL LECTURE
‘China's Silk Road Cities’

Sunday 29 July, 3.00pm
Queensland Art Gallery, Lecture Theatre

Join Dr Jamie Greenbaum, Beijing-based Sinologist, author and tour leader, as he presents an illustrated lecture on China's Silk Road Cities in anticipation of the Martin Randall Travel (MRT) International Art Tour to China for QAGOMA Members in 2019.

After the lecture enjoy light refreshments with other guests in the beautiful grounds of the Queensland Art Gallery Sculpture Courtyard.

Get more out of your visit by taking the time to explore the Queensland Art Gallery's International and Asian Collection galleries before the lecture. The display draws attention to the importance of cultural exchange in the development of aesthetic traditions.

About Dr Jamie Greenbaum

Dr Greenbaum is a specialist in Ming dynasty cultural history, and has lived in Beijing since 2004. He is a Visiting Fellow in the School of Culture, History & Language at the Australian National University, Canberra. He is also involved with Renmin University in Beijing, teaching and mentoring post-graduate students. In this period he has published two books; one on the late-Ming literary world, and the other a translation and commentary on the final writings of an early twentieth-century Chinese political figure. He is currently working on an annotated translation of a 17th century literary compilation.

Dr Greenbaum will lead the MRT International Art Tour to China for QAGOMA Members in 2019.
