Event description

Description

How do you future proof a water front building against global warming? Why, you make it float of course.

The uniqueness of Brooke St Pier's cannot be underestimated. The building is designed to rise and fall with the tide, in essence a giant floating barge that permanently resides at Franklin Wharf on Hobart's waterfront. Clad in transparent silica-filled polycarbonate lit up by rows of LEDs, the true beauty of the deceptively simple-looking building becomes apparent at night when the whole structure glows. Incorporating the MONA Ferry terminal, shops, cafés and some of Hobarts finest restaurants, this incredible structure is a true feat of architectural genius.

Event Location:

Brooke St Larder, Brooke St Pier, Hobart.

Brooke St Larder celebrates Tasmanian locally sourced foods, wines, and produce, all freshly prepared just for you. It features one of Hobarts best kept secrets, the absolute waterside terrace that takes in the wonderful vistas of its great harbour setting.
