Description

Identifying Family Violence: Responding to Women

Northern Integrated Family Violence Services (NIFVS) are offering Identifying Family Violence: Responding to Women (IFV) training sessions across the northern metropolitan region in 2016.

Funded by the Department of Health and Human Services, IFV training is open to workers who are not directly involved in specialist family violence service provision, but who may work with women and children who are experiencing family violence.

Through this half-day training participants will increase their understanding and recognition of the indicators of family violence, gain strategies to respond to disclosures, learn about safety planning and appropriate referrals for women and children.

The 2016 training schedule is as follows. Search Eventbrite for Identifying Family Violence to find the registration page for each session.

  • 10 February, 9.00 am to 1.30 pm (Darebin)
  • 16 March, 9.00 am to 1.30 pm (Whittlesea)
  • 20 April, 9.00 am to 1.00 pm (Darebin)
  • 22 June, 9.00 am to 1.30 pm (Nillumbik)
  • 19 July, 9.00 am to 1.30 pm (Moreland)
  • 14 September, 9.00 am to 1.00 pm (Hume)
  • 19 October, 9.00 am to 1.30 pm (Whittlesea)
  • 16 November, 9.00 am to 1.30 pm (Yarra)

IFV training in April and September will be followed by Regional Induction, for participants who are new to family violence work or who are new to the (NMR). Search Eventbrite for Regional Induction to find the registration page for each session. If you would like to attend both sessions you need to book a ticket for each.

Due to high demand for this training, only two people per organisation can attend each session. If you would like to discuss fee-for-service in-house training, please contact us at info@whin.org.au.

Please note: your registration has not been confirmed until you have received your ticket via email. Venue details will be listed on your ticket. Please contact info@whin.org.au if you have problems registering.
