Event Details

Northern Integrated Family Violence Services and Elizabeth Morgan House, with the support of the Victorian Aboriginal Community Services Association Ltd, invite you to a training session to strengthen your understanding of and response to family violence.

 

This training is open to workers from Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations in the northern metropolitan region of Melbourne. 

It is designed for workers who may be in contact with women and children who are experiencing family violence and need to know how to respond and refer on to specialist family violence prvoiders.

Through this half-day training, participants will increase their understanding and recognition of family violence. They will gain strategies to respond to disclosures and learn about appropriate referrals for women and children.

Morning tea will be provided. We may not be able to cater for specific dietary requirements for late registrants.

FAQs

Am I eligible for this training?

This training is only open to workers in the northern metropolitan region (NMR) of Melbourne.  This includes the local council areas of Banyule, Darebin, Hume, Moreland, Nillumbik, Whittlesea and Yarra.

Students on placement in the NMR are eligible to attend this training.  Students who are not currently on placement should wait and register for a future session when they are eligible to attend.

How will I know if my registration has been confirmed?

Your registration is confirmed once you have received your ticket via email. If you do not receive your ticket please check your spam folder.  If you have problems using Eventbrite to register, please contact Ada adac@whin.org.au or 9484 1666.

How can I find out the venue address?

The venue address will be listed on your ticket.

This session is sold out.  What should I do now?

This is the first of two sessions. The second session will run prior to the end of this year, and registrations will open up 4 weeks prior to the training date. 

We encourage you to add your name to the waiting list.  If a place becomes available, you will receive an email inviting you to register. Please note, you will have a limited time to respond to this offer before the place is offered to the next person on the waiting list.

Once you are on the NIFVS mailing list, you will be notified when registrations open for future training and events.
