About this event

The Innovation & Collaboration Centre is bringing in three former UniSA student /entrepreneurs to tell their stories on how they brought their idea into existence and startup to a “minimum viable product” (An MVP is a version of a product with just enough features to be usable by early customers who can then provide feedback for future product development). Did we also mention that food and drinks are provided!

Join us for a fireside chat with these UniSA South Aussie innovators, facilitated by ICC Director, Jasmine Vreugdenburg:

  • Charmain Ooi – Founder, BYO Foods
  • After a successful internship in her last semester of the Bachelor of Marketing, Charmain joined Taste Studios as a Marketing Coordinator and began heading her own food and hospitality innovations with BYO Foods at the ICC, creating small-batch, high-end food and beverage products for hotels, cafés and restaurants under customisable packaging and labelling.

  • James Kim – Co-founder and Director of Engineering and Products, ecoJet Engineering
  • A co-founder and director of ecoJet Engineering, James’ specialties include pushing the boundaries of microturbine technologies to enable next generation deployable, on-demand and clean power generation as well as exploring relevant adjacent emergent technologies.

  • Lindon Lark – Founder, Blend Etiquette
  • Lindon has grown Blend Etiquette from humble beginnings to his self-sustaining distillery which is home to a 300-litre copper pot still and a team of likeminded innovators. Hear from one of the strongest local voices in gin as Lindon joins our Idea to MVP panel.

“Idea to MVP” is the second part of our ‘Student 2 Startup’ series of events taking place across October and November. All of our ‘Student to Startup events count toward your UniSA+ Award, an award recognising students who actively participate in relevant career focused co-curricular activities.
