About this event

The BASIC Course will be held over two days, 13 and 14 July 2021. Please arrive at 7:30am on the first day to check-in for an 8:00am start.

Who is it aimed at?

It is primarily designed as an introduction to Intensive Care for doctors coming to work in the ICU for the first time, but has also proved popular with senior ICU nurses, Emergency department doctors and other doctors who have responsibility for severely ill patients.

What is the format?

The format is similar to ACLS, ATLS and FCCS. The course consists of course manual, brief clinically-based lectures, skill stations, e-learning and pre- and post-course tests. The course works on a cascading model with local instructors delivering the content after appropriate training.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive at 7:30am for an 8:00am start.

What's the cancellation and refund policy?

To cancel your registration, you can request a cancellation through Eventbrite, or contact Sandra at the PA Research Foundation: sandra@pafoundation.org.au / 07 3180 1840.

  • Attendees can receive a refund, less Eventbrite fees, if registration is cancelled 7 or more days prior to the event. If cancellations are requested within 7 days of the event, there is no refund.
  • If the EVENT is cancelled by the organiser, attendees will receive a full refund.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

A paper ticket is not required. Just have a copy of the ticket on your mobile to scan upon arrival.
