Abstract:

EPA water experts will present an information session to our members on the new SEPP (Waters) 2018.

The session will give an overview of the review process, key changes and will give you an opportunity to ask any questions that you have. Please feel free to register your questions ahead of time via the IAH Victoria email (vic.branch@iah.org.au).

The SEPP (Waters) 2018 was released on Friday 19 October 2018. A copy can be found here:

https://www.epa.vic.gov.au/about-us/legislation/water-legislation/water-related-policies

Notes:

The SEPP is now in force for any new assessments started since 19 October 2018. The transition period ceased 19 January 2019 from the old SEPPs (groundwater and surface water) to the new SEPP.
This SEPP will have a short life with the provisions generally contained in various other documents once the new EP Act commences in the second half of 2020.
