Andrea has over 25 years working in the healthcare industry, with a predominant focus in cardiovascular health. She has worked as a Registered Nurse & Nurse Educator, and for the past 9 years has worked with Teleflex Medical. Andrea has extensive knowledge and skills in cardiac therapies and IABP and is an advocate for improving patient outcomes through evidence-based education.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Apply key IABP principles to decide on the appropriateness of therapy for your patient
- Prepare and insert an IAB catheter or assist with same
- Correctly set-up and start-up the IABP for patient use
- Use the arterial waveform and related pressures to monitor and optimise IABP therapy
- Use triggers and timing to optimise IABP therapy
- Troubleshoot alarms using the balloon pressure waveform
- Safely wean IABP therapy and remove the IAB catheter or assist with same
