Data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence... these evolving technologies are transforming our workplaces, our social institutions and our everyday lives. Whilst these technologies have exciting potential, are we overlooking the human and ethical dimensions of data and its uses?

Join us on campus to hear leading UTS academics - along with industry and government speakers - discuss the evolving challenges and opportunities at play in our increasingly data-rich world.

This UTS Conversation on Humans, Data, AI & Ethics will feature thought-provoking panel discussions, TED-style talks and poster presentations showcasing research and expertise at the intersections between people, processes, technologies, data and ethics.

For catering purposes, please register for our Conversation event on this page by Monday, December 4th. A detailed schedule for the day has now been published on our event webpage for download.

Our daytime Conversation will be followed by our Great Debate (6pm - 7:30pm) on the proposition that "Humans have blown it: it's time to turn the planet over to the machines". To find out more and register for the debate, please click here. Registrants who wish to attend both the Conversation and the Debate must register for both events.
