Event description

Description

Please join us for the Human Rights Oration, delivered by renowned journalist Stan Grant, and the launch of new resources for Aboriginal Cultural Rights in Victoria to celebrate International Human Rights Day.

Stan Grant is the Indigenous Affairs Editor for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and special adviser to the Prime Minister on Indigenous constitutional recognition.

Drawing on his personal history as a Wiradjuri man and his professional history as a journalist reporting from conflict zones around the world, Stan’s address will question whether Australia can be a country that can fully enshrine the rights of Indigenous peoples, wrestle with its past, draw a line through its history, and give Indigenous peoples the opportunity to make decisions about their lives that will lift Indigenous people and communities.
