To mark International Human Rights Day 2016, join the ACT Human Rights Commission and Amnesty International for a discussion on human rights and gendered violence.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, one of our key note speakers, David Morrison (Australian of the Year 2016) is now unable to attend. We would like to thank David for his support for this important event.
We are privileged to have the new ACT Coordinator-General for Family Safety, Ms Jo Wood attending to provide a valuable additional local perspective on gendered violence in the ACT.
Speakers now include:
Louise Taylor (Deputy CEO, Legal Aid ACT)
John Hinchey (Victims of Crime Commissioner)
Jo Wood, ACT Coordinator-General for Family Safety
Dr Helen Watchirs (President and Human Rights Commissioner, ACT Human Rights Commission) will Chair the event and Nishara Fallon, Amnesty International SNSW/ACT Branch President will close the event.
There will also be some time for questions from the floor after presentations.
The forum is free to attend, and will include a light lunch.
Please RSVP for catering purposes, and to advise us of any dietary or accessibility requirements.
