Overview

A high impact seminar designed to set students up for success in the Visual Arts HSC Written Exam.

Through targeted instruction, students will recap key content areas and unpack both Section I and Section II; learning how to navigate the paper, understand the demands of the questions, and apply effective strategies for planning writing under exam conditions.

Whether students are just entering the Preliminary course or approaching the end of the HSC journey, the lecture content is tailored to meet them where they are.

BYO pen, high lighters, clipboard, snacks and water bottles.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:

Sarah Fordham is an artist-educator with thirty years of professional experience. She holds a Bachelor of Art Education and Masters of Cross-Disciplinary Art & Design from the University of New South Wales (UNSW). Sarah’s range of teaching expertise extends from primary and secondary to tertiary Visual Arts education. Since 2014, she has been a lecturer in Visual Arts Education at the Australian Catholic University (ACU) - designing and delivering both undergraduate and graduate education programs in Visual Arts for both primary and secondary pre-service teachers in the areas of curriculum, pedagogy and assessment. In 2022, she was invited by New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA) to be part of the Visual Arts teachers advisory panel where she provided ongoing guidance regarding the roll-out of the new 7-10 Visual Arts syllabus. Sarah enjoys connecting with fellow educators and is regularly invited to work with teachers as a curriculum consultant, conference keynote speaker, workshop facilitator and as an artist-in-resident. Drawing on her background as a specialist secondary school Visual Arts teacher, as an Artist Educator at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) and as a practicing artist and designer; Sarah’s focus is in assisting teachers in designing authentic, high-quality programs and resources.


ABOUT THE VENUE:

MARRICKVILLE PAVILION AND LIBRARY is accessible by lift from both the street and ground levels. The venue is accessible for people using wheelchairs and other mobility aids. There is a hearing loop available.
