At 6pm on Thursday 27th October (Week 3) Hurlstone Agricultural High School will host a HSC Information Session for parents and carers of Year 11 students who will be completing their Higher School Certificate in 2017. The evening will provide greater insight into the organisation and pressures associated with the Higher School Certificate as well as addressing some of the concerns parents may have regarding the ATAR and moderation processes administered by the Board of Studies, Teaching and Educational Standards (which will be renamed the NSW Education Standards Authority in 2017).
Mr Daryl Currie, Principal, will deliver a presentation on assessments and scaling. Mr Steven So, Deputy Principal, will outline the essential elements of the HSC Assessment Policy.
All Year 11 students and their parents are invited to attend. The session will be held in the school library and will commence at 6pm sharp, concluding by 7.30pm. Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be provided.
