An intensive, essay-focussed workshop on Shakespeare's play The Tempest and Margaret Atwood's novel Hag-Seed for Advanced English Module A.
About this event
Jeddle's upcoming Module A (English Advanced) workshop is on the textual conversation between Shakespeare's The Tempest and Margaret Atwood's Hag-Seed. This is notoriously the most content-heavy module; not only are students required to analyse TWO texts in relation to each other, but they must also draw upon the contextual influences of each text in order to explain the evolution of meaning and the distinct modes of representation. So much to explain in so few words...
So we've made the entire process easy for you. One of Jeddle's most experienced presenters, Jonny, will take you through an intensive crash-course that covers all Module A requirements in order to help you achieve your best mark. These include:
- Context, form and themes
- Close analysis of each text
- Comparative analysis between texts (i.e. the 'textual conversation')
- Complete essay structure from start to finish, focussing on a clear progression of ideas
- How to adapt to any essay question on the day
The workshop has a heavy focus on practical exercises, all of which are 100% relevant to the final drafts that students will learn for the HSC. Jeddle also prides itself on its lessons in question adaptation, weaving exercises and examples throughout the day that relate to adapting to different types of questions and stimuli.
EVERYTHING we teach will be coming from the frame of: How would you actually use this in an essay? In what parts of the essay would this be relevant? What would this actually look like in a sentence?
Please do not miss out on this rare opportunity to drastically improve the quality of your writing!
Jeddle has developed the most comprehensive, skills-based English program in New South Wales. Jeddle's interactive, results-driven workshops have assisted over 1000 students improve both their marks and confidence in English, focussing on the practical elements necessary to achieve high band 6 outcomes.
The Presenter
Jonny achieved an ATAR of 99.80 in 2013 and has since personally taught over 500 students in both one-on-one and group settings, including multiple engagements at top 20 NSW schools for pre-HSC revision. Jonny is currently set to complete a Masters in Law at the University of Sydney.

The maximum capacity of the workshop is 15 students. We believe this number will allow for a sufficient balance between individual participation and peer-learning.
