If you have ever experienced workplace change or had to manage a team through uncertainty, it’s likely that you have experience this at some point. What may or may not be comforting to know is that this is a natural phenomenon and is referred to as Patternicity. .
Patternicity is the tendency to find meaningfully patterns in meaningless noise and is a psychological response to what the brain sees as a threat to the status quo. It is the reason as to why when we are faced with the unknown many will insert their own reality which can be like making an elephant out of a fly.
