About this event
It can become quite overwhelming when a loved ones is diagnosed with dementia.
Your loved ones or the person you are caring for may become frustrated with the effects of the condition on their ability to function. They will become more aware that they can no longer perform tasks that they could once do with ease. This can lead to depression, anxiety and anger in the person and feelings of anxiety, guilt and stress in the family members or caregiver.
The dementia journey can be frightening and exhausting, but underlying it is the relationship you have with the person. It is the care, love and understanding you express during the journey that will become a lasting legacy to treasure.
In this online presentation, we will discuss the common behaviour changes and challenges, along with recommendations on how to support the person. We will also discuss strategies for diverting the person when behaviour becomes challenging.
