Event description

Description

In a recent poll, over 80% of participants said they enjoyed leading their team but nearly 90% said the issue they struggled with most was having difficult conversations with team members.

These conversations might be about poor performance, inappropriate behaviour, unrealistic expectations or something as simple as body odour, being grumpy before the first coffee of the day or never refilling the paper in the photocopier.

Most of us avoid conflict as much as we can.

Those of us who embrace it can sometimes do so a bit too enthusiastically and make everything an issue.

There is definitely a middle ground.

If you would like some help having difficult conversations at work join me as we walk through the fundamentals for setting up and having difficult conversations at work. It’s not complicated but there are steps you can take that will build your confidence to have these conversations and reach acceptable outcomes without sleepless nights and anxiety.

We will also talk about how to manage your team so issues are resolved before they become difficult.

About the speaker:

Juliet Robinson has been working with organisations and teams across a range of industries for the past 20 years to develop leadership capabilities and create sustainable change. She currently delivers online leadership programs for SME owners and managers to help them build their skills and confidence in leading.

She has built and managed a successful wholesale and retail business and still works across all levels of organisations to help define strategies, assist managers to develop their leadership skills and ensure their team members understand how to deliver on their role in achieving business results.

Having run businesses and worked within and led teams, she has a very broad base of expertise in the people issues that organisations and leaders grapple with every day.
