Description

Are you a small business owner or manager keen to double your revenue in the next 12 months?

In this hands-on workshop, you'll discover the success tactics used by some of the biggest blue-chip companies in the world. You'll learn how to use proven business tools to develop a strategy that will double your business over the next 12 months.

Is your business giving you all that you want?

When you started your business, you had a dream of the profits you wanted to earn. Is your business giving you those profits today? Are you living the life that you dreamt of? Are you on track for the future of your dreams? Are you headed for a luxurious retirement?

If you’re like most small business owners, you said “no” to at least one of these questions. You’re not alone. Most small business owners start out with a vision of their ideal life…and of the business that is going to provide it. They know what kind of car they want to drive. They know what type of house they want to live in. They know the types of holidays they want to go on. And they know how they want to spend their free time.

But then they get bogged down in the day to day operations of the business. Business problems keep popping up and they need to deal with them. Change occurs in the market or the business environment and you have to adapt. People continuously cause trouble for your business and you have to deal with the mess.

Are you working IN your business or working ON your business?

Small business owners end up spending most of their time working IN their business and not enough time working ON their business. Urgent day to day tasks crowd out the important strategic tasks. It’s understandable, it’s human nature.

But even when business owners do get a brief opportunity to work ON their business, they often don’t know what aspects of the business are most in need of improvement. Sure, there might be one aspect of your business that obviously needs to be improved, but beyond that, it is hard to tell which improvements would contribute the most towards achieving your goals. If you’re like most small business owners, you’re going to have trouble explaining why improving one area of your business would contribute more to achieving your goals than improving another. Why is that? It’s because Small Business Owners don’t have access to Business Tools.

Why are Business Tools the Key?

It is almost impossible to simply sit down and ‘think’ up the ideal way to improve your business. That’s why the corporate world uses Business Tools. These Business Tools help to guide executives thinking. They provide structured frameworks to analyse and assess businesses. These tools enable them to turn the chaos into order. Using these tools reveals where businesses need to be improved and informs how they should be improved.

Most small business owners haven’t worked as senior managers or consultants in large corporations. Those are the places where business tools are taught and used. And, as most small business owners have never been there, they don’t have access to the tools. As a result, small business owners are left struggling on their own to figure out how to improve their business.

What’s Best for Small Businesses?

Business tools are to a business owner as a car mechanic’s tools are to a mechanic. A mechanic used their tools to service and improve the performance of a car. So too, business owners use business tools to service and improve the performance of their business.

If you’re a big business with hundreds of cars, you’d think nothing of spending the money on buying a set of mechanic’s tools and developing the skills to use them. With hundreds of cars, the tools would be used every day. But if you’re a small business with just one or two cars, it doesn’t make sense to spend tens of thousands of dollars on tools that you’re only going to use a few times per year. It would make no sense to spend the time and effort on learning how to use the tools if you are only going to use them for a few hours per year. It makes much more sense to take the car to a mechanic who already has the tools and who knows how to use them.

So too with business tools. It makes sense for big corporations to invest in business tools and hire in managers and consultants with the skills to use them. But small businesses do not need the business tools often enough to justify invest in acquiring the tools and the skills to use them. To service and improve the performance of a small business, it is much easier and cheaper to periodically go to someone who already has the tools and the skills to use them.

How does it work?

This workshop is about improving your business in order to achieve your goals. We’ll introduce you to the business tools, we’ll show you how to use them and then we’ll help you to use them to analyse and assess your business. We’ll help you to apply the business tools to determine which areas of your business is most in need of improvement to achieve your goals. Then we’ll help you use the tools to prioritise and create a plan for how to implement the improvements to achieve your goals and to start living the life you are meant to live.

There are no ‘magic bullets’ or ‘three simple steps’. Grand sweeping initiatives rarely achieve their goals, despite what their proponents may claim. Real and lasting improvement is made through implementing many small improvements. These small improvements compound into great leaps forward towards achieving your goals. Using these business tools on your business is the most grounded and thoroughly proven method to rejuvenate your business and to achieve your goals.
