A one day foundational training for professionals working with children under 10 years with Sexualised Behaviour Problems

About this Event

This one day training will equip professionals working in clinical and casework settings with children with the foundational skills and knowledge to:

  • Understand age and developmentally appropriate Sexualised Behaviours in children under 10 years of age;
  • Identify risk factors;
  • Screen children for Sexualised Behaviour Problems;
  • Safety Plan;
  • Use evidence based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness and Narrative Therapy;
  • Assist parents and carers to manage SBP.

Sexualised Behaviour Problems arise in children's lives for a range of reasons and can be confronting and challenging to deal with. This training will give you the knowledge and tools to confidently identify these problems, manage risks, and address them tactfully and with skill in a variety of contexts.

This training is facilitated by Doug Crowther. Doug is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker. Doug has spent the past eight years working with children and their families to address issues of abuse, neglect and violence in Metropolitan and Regional New South Wales , as well as the Sunshine Coast and Caboolture in Queensland.

Training costs includes attendance, training materials, morning and afternoon tea and lunch.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, spaces for this training will be limited to five participants only. This is an opportunity to participate in this training with a small cohort of other participants while adhering to social distancing requirements.
